The aim of Brighton St. Pauli is to bring together Brighton- and Sussex-based FC Sankt Pauli supporters together, establishing a network of FCSP fans (or similarly-minded football fans) to share news and information on all things Sankt Pauli. This will lead to:
  • Organising regular social events; both local (Sussex/UK-based) and regional (Hamburg/Germany) for occasional matches and festivals. In Progress
  • Finding (or creating) a venue that can show live games of all matches involving FC Sankt Pauli.
  • Registering an official Fan Group with the club to both support FCSP and aid in the procurement of match tickets. Done!

Why FC Sankt Pauli?

Fans discover FC Sankt Pauli through a number of ways. Many (a number of our members included) read an article about a disillusioned Arsenal fan who (for the same cost of a Emirates match-day ticket, plus travel across London and a pint and a half-time pie) got a return flight to Hamburg, with accommodation, a match-day ticket (German Football is unbelievably affordable) and experienced a passion and atmosphere that had him hooked for more.
FC Sankt Pauli is based in Hamburg, right in the centre of town and next to the famous Reeperbahn. It's special and has, through the efforts of its fan, remained a club for the community and fighting against all forms of bigotry and corporate commercialism, overcoming previous financial ruin and rising though the German Football leagues.
The video clip below gives you a taster, and this article FC Sankt Pauli, the counter-culture of European football gives a great detail of the club's history.
