Events – Saturday 18th Aug

Charity Walk

There’s two events happening this Saturday, 18th August that we’ve members taking part and would like to share with the group.

Charity Walk 12Miles 3Wellies

We had an invite last week from the lovely folk at the Duke of Wellington to join their Triple Welly Challenge charity walk / pub crawl.
It starts at the Wellington Pub (Elm Grove, Brighton): meet 10am, leaving 11am approx.
Goes via the Duke of Wellington (Shoreham-by-Sea): estimated 2pm.
Finishes at the Duke of Wellington (Upper Glocs Rd, Brighton): 7pm approx. for live music / celebrations.
Please take a moment to read the fundraising page and make a donation, there’s more information there plus instructions for those wishing to take part.

German Summer Party

There’s a German Summer Party taking place at the Park Crescent pub, which is located near The Level.  Party starts at 3pm, with German snacks and goes onto late.  This may interest a few of the German speakers in our group.

Finally, many thanks for everyone who came down last Friday for the St Pauli Screening.  Was a brilliant turn out, the best ever and great to see faces new and old.

Live Screening – Friday 10 Aug

The FC St Pauli v Darmstadt Bundesliga-2 match has been selected by BT Sport for live televising! This makes us very happy for two reasons.
1) Not only will we catch the classic summer evening Millerntor shot of the Dom’s ferris wheel sparkling in the corner of the South and Gegengarade Stands, which never fails to make us wish that we were there…
2) We’ve also heard from Manchester St Pauli about meeting up in Brighton!!!
This gives us a chance to welcome them to the Duke of Wellington (Upper Glocs Rd, Brighton) Friday 10th August kickoff 7.30pm.

Hopefully, we can extend the party into Saturday for the opening match of the Bostik Premier League when Whitehawk v Harlow Town meet at the Enclosed Ground 11th August kickoff 3pm!! For anyone interested to meet on Saturday, we’ll be at the Mad Hatter (Rock St, Brighton) from 1pm

In addition, there’s an walk starting at 11pm from the Clocktower in Brighton Centre.

Fantasy Football

It’s that time of year when, as much as love to hate the EPL, we start to think about Fantasy Football Leagues.

Brighton St Pauli have been running a league on the Official Premier League site for the past 5yrs. This year there’s a slight change as the option to have private Head-to-Head Leagues has been created. No idea how it’ll play out, could be fun.

We’ve had some great scores in the past so can be a pretty competitive, at top and at the bottom of the league (which is usually where you’ll find my ‘team’).

We’ve created both classic and head-to-head fantasy leagues.
Classic League (ID 799062-184353)
Head-to-Head League (ID 799062-178476)
Good luck and have fun.

Today’s the Day – 5yrs of Chaos

Stage being Prepared

Loving Hamburg this weekend – sunshine, schnitzel and… Mexikaner!
Caught up last night with friends (old and new) at a couple of gigs featuring bands in today’s show. The stage is set and we’re ready to roll from 1910 tonight. Entry is FREE, with donations for the bands and collection of the FC St. Pauli Museum welcome.

POG and Anja McCloskey

Paul from POG and Anja McCloskey

We’ve be lucky to have known Paul from POG for years, and can now claim to have seen 100% of POG gigs held in Germany – helped by the fact it’s Paul’s first ever visit to Germany. The Café Feuerwache in Chemnitzstraße was a perfect location with Anja playing some spellbinding solo accordion, followed by POG’s thought-provoking songs of everyday struggles, class war and hope. Not to be missed.

Rebel Riot

Rebel Riot

We headed to Gängeviertel, and managed to squeeze ourselves in to join the mass . Fast and loud tales of the band’s fight for justice in their hometown of Yangon, Myanmar. It was sold-out so hope a few people unable to get in will be able to see them tonight.

UKUStripes and Friends

A formation of many of our Hamburg-based musician friends, featuring Ukulele (sorry) and classic Punk.

Magic Show and DJ

Jörn – DJ and magician

Whatever you do, DON’T ask Jörn for the coin trick! You might prefer to ask him for any Ska/Punk tunes!!

Fixtures 2018/19 Out

Yesterday the 2018/19 fixture’s calendar dates were released!!  Notable dates being Spieltag 8 (away) and 25 (home) derby matches…

The Brighton St Pauli calendar has been updated, with dates and times to be fixed as there are confirmed, and the odd spelling error too!!

You can subscribe to the calendar from the link on our Events Page

Five Years of Chaos – 21st July 2018

In the summer of 2013 we started our fanclub Brighton St. Pauli – with friends and family based in St. Pauli and Brighton (Hove, actually) and the across the county of Sussex.

This month saw our fanclub’s 5th Anniversary quietly celebrated with the adoption of a rescue cat – which has been promptly named Pauli. We’ve now arranged a cat-sitter and plan to join our friends POG who are on tour in UK/Essen/Hamburg for our “Five Years of Chaos” party at the Millerntor Museum Weinbar on Saturday 21st July.

The lineup includes UKUStripes and Friends (Ukulele-Duo from Hamburg), POG (Acoustic Punk from Brighton), Rebel Riot (Punkrock from Myanmar) and afterwards Ska and Punk DJ (Jörn from Hamburg)

Admission is Free – Donations for musicians and FC St. Pauli Museum will be collected.

Doors open at 7.10pm (1910 FCSPT).

There is one love and one club – FC ST. Pauli von 1910 e.V.

Update: Rebel Riot have a crowdfunding page to help with the costs to bring them to Germany and Switzerland.  In addition the band aims to bring awareness of the Books/Food Not Bombs projects running in Myanmar.

London – watch live at Zeitgeist (Sat 21 Apr)

With St Pauli dropping into the relegation playoff position last weekend, we plan to lend our voices/lungs/livers to St Pauli London to watch the Boys in (The) Brown.

We plan to leave Brighton Rail Station on the 10.28 changing at Clapham, then heading to Vauxhall and onto the Zeitgeist on Black Prince Road.

Regensburg host St Pauli, kick off noon (BST).

All set for May (no, not her)

The last four fixtures were announced and we’ve updated the iCalendar for those subscribing.

Flights are booked for the last home game v Bielefeld – we’re heading out on the Friday 4th May, returning Mon 7th (bank holiday). Should prove to be great fun as there’s large numbers heading from the UK fan clubs.

Tickets will be in high demand, so thinking of a fall-back plan (Pub in St Pauli) to watch game if unable to get tickets.
