Supporting the amazing work of Pauline Town supporting homeless people in Tameside, Greater Manchester. The virus means her pub has shut and that has shut off the source of funds she collects through gigs to fund her work. That’s why we’re stepping in with this virtual festival.

Part of the WE SHALL OVERCOME movement. We Shall Overcome is a movement of musicians, artists, activists and community organisers who are angry about the human costs of austerity policies but who want to do something practical to help those affected.

The first We Shall Overcome weekend took place in 2015 and has since run regular gigs up and down the land. A LOT of gigs. So far WSO organisers and musicians have helped put together more than 1100 gigs up and down this land and beyond, raising an estimated £500,000 of cash, food, clothing and bedding for those hardest hit by austerity.

Derbysieger 2.1 – Virtual Replay

Our friends at Glasgow St Pauli have suggested another way to beat the (COVID-19) Blues; a fan club gathering, ‘meeting’ in Zoom to watch a repeat of the second St Pauli / HSV Derbysieger played this season starting 19.10 on Sunday, 12th April. It’ll be just like the real thing, but without Welly Boot Pies, and a trip to Whitehawk straight after…

Instructions

In advance, you will need to create a free account on Zoom here and download the software to use laptop/desktop (either Windows/Mac), or download the Zoom app from your App Store for phone/tablet (Android/Apple).

When the meeting is due, going the event by clicking on the provided Zoom Meeting link, or open Zoom then select ‘join meeting’ and enter Meeting ID: xxx-xxx-xxx when prompted.

Note: The Meeting ID will be shared soon though fan club emails. If you’re a Brighton St Pauli member and didn’t receive the last Newsletter, it might be worth registering / checking your subscription details here as we’re not sharing the Zoom link on Social Media.
