Loving Hamburg this weekend – sunshine, schnitzel and… Mexikaner!
Caught up last night with friends (old and new) at a couple of gigs featuring bands in today’s show. The stage is set and we’re ready to roll from 1910 tonight. Entry is FREE, with donations for the bands and collection of the FC St. Pauli Museum welcome.

POG and Anja McCloskey

Paul from POG and Anja McCloskey

We’ve be lucky to have known Paul from POG for years, and can now claim to have seen 100% of POG gigs held in Germany – helped by the fact it’s Paul’s first ever visit to Germany. The Café Feuerwache in Chemnitzstraße was a perfect location with Anja playing some spellbinding solo accordion, followed by POG’s thought-provoking songs of everyday struggles, class war and hope. Not to be missed.

Rebel Riot

Rebel Riot

We headed to Gängeviertel, and managed to squeeze ourselves in to join the mass . Fast and loud tales of the band’s fight for justice in their hometown of Yangon, Myanmar. It was sold-out so hope a few people unable to get in will be able to see them tonight.

UKUStripes and Friends

A formation of many of our Hamburg-based musician friends, featuring Ukulele (sorry) and classic Punk.

Magic Show and DJ

Jörn – DJ and magician

Whatever you do, DON’T ask Jörn for the coin trick! You might prefer to ask him for any Ska/Punk tunes!!
